Pregnenolone is an amino acid advertised as being effective in enhancing psychomotor performance and decrease fatigue in healthy subjects.
The company behind this supplement is Source Natural, founded in 1982 and currently located in California, United States. The manufacturer offers a broad range of herbal supplements, amino acids and multivitamin approaches for various health concerns.
This formula contains Pregnenolone, which according to the producing company is the starting point from which all steroid hormones are manufactured in our bodies.
Pregnenolone does not appear to be accompanied by a return policy. However, the product is available for purchase from numerous online retailers, some of which may offer such feature.

What’s Inside?

1) What’s Inside Pregnenolone?

Pregnenolone includes the following ingredients: Pregnenolone, mannitol, sorbitol, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, natural cherry flavor, modified cellulose gum, colloidal silicon dioxide, stearic acid, and magnesium stearate.

2) Does Pregnenolone Work?

As the name of the supplement also suggests, this formula contains the steroid hormone Pregnenolone. This hormone is involved in a series of processes inside the human body. The science behind this substance is complex and difficult to understand for common users. In short terms, Pregnenolone is synthesized in cells of both the adrenal gland and the central nervous system from cholesterol. It is the precursor for all the steroid hormones, including progesterone, cortisol, aldosterone, testosterone, dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) and estrogens.

It is important to note that this formula is offered in several different forms and concentrations: 10 mg Sublingual, 25 mg Cherry Sublingual, 10 mg tablet (which also contains Vitamin C), 25 mg tablets (contains Vitamin C) and 50 mg tablet (contains Vitamin C)

The product is mainly promoted as an amino acid blend capable of improving the overall well-being. In addition to these claims, the manufacturer also advertises the formula as effective in reducing the symptoms of PMS, reducing stress, helping to alleviate pain associated with arthritis and helping regulate the mood.

Sadly, Source Natural does not offer enough information to support these claims. Furthermore, the formula has received mostly mixed reviews and testimonials. Some patients have reported positive results, while others have reported no results whatsoever.

Cost

3) Pregnenolone Cost

Pregnenolone is an inexpensive supplement. The product is available in bottles of 60, 120 and 180 tablets. The recommended dosage will vary. It is advised to do not exceed 50 mg per day.

The cost of shipping will depend on your physical location. Pregnenolone should be available for purchase from numerous online retailers. Some retailers may offer additional discounts and even free shipping for larger orders.

Verdict

4) Our Final Take On Pregnenolone

Historically, Pregnenolone has been used successfully for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis as far back as the 1940’s, but more recent studies seem to suggest that this hormone may be more appropriate for depression.

The bottom line is that the evidence we have is far from conclusive. Pregnenolone may be effective in treating the above health concerns, but it is important to understand that dealing with steroid hormones is always a difficult task. Each may react different to the treatment, and a formula that works for a patient may prove to be ineffective for another.
