OystaCal is a dietary supplement formulated to ensure proper amounts of calcium and vitamin D. The formula consists of highly-available organic calcium, enriched with vitamin D for maximized absorption of the mineral.

This formula’s producer is Salamander Concepts, a small company founded in 1998 and headquartered in the Republic of South Africa. The company manufactures and distributes several brands of supplements, beauty care products (especially for skincare), essential oils, and home tests. The company enjoys an excellent reputation and distributes its products worldwide.

OystaCal is advertised to provide 125% of the Recommended Daily Allowance of calcium in a single dose. The mineral is claimed to be obtained from the oyster shell, which is marketed as a highly bio-available form and easy to absorb.

The manufacturer also ensures its clients that the mineral in OystaCal has been purified and doesn’t contain any harmful contaminants that may sometimes be found in oyster shells.

The formula is marketed as essential for a healthy diet as it is both natural and safe.

OystaCa is designed to support the needs of all individuals who want to maintain normal levels of this nutrient and to prevent the numerous conditions caused by a deficiency.

The formula helps the body fight osteoporosis, excessive bone loss, strengthen teeth, and aids in other body functions.

Overview

1) Quick Overview

OystaCal is a vitamin and mineral-based nutritional supplement.

The formula’s core ingredient is calcium, an essential mineral needed, especially by bones and teeth.

The nutrient also brings essential health benefits in weight management, PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome) symptoms to the nervous system, heart, and circulatory system.

Calcium is lost daily through hair, nails, sweat, and urine. The loss of this nutrient should be always compensated from dietary sources; to prevent a potential deficiency, leading to multiple affections such as osteoporosis, arteriosclerosis, high blood pressure, etc. In the absence of other supplies, the nutrient will be replaced in these cases from the bone tissue deposits.

The most important benefits of this mineral’s adequate intakes include preventing osteoporosis and excessive weight gain, reducing cardiovascular disease risk, and improving mood by reducing stress.

Vitamin D is the vitamin from this formula’s composition and is considered a necessary substance for adequately absorbing calcium. The vitamin is also used to maintain the heart, nervous and immune systems, thyroid, and regular blood circulation.

The best way to assimilate this vitamin is from dietary sources (especially supplements) and sun exposure for a minimum of 30 minutes. Deficiency of the vitamin leads to weak bones, muscle contractions, insomnia, visual problems, diarrhea, and rickets in children.

Overdose may lead to over absorption of calcium, lack of appetite, drowsiness, nausea, and abdominal pain.

3) Does OystaCal Work and it is Safe?

OystaCal is a vitamin and mineral-based supplement.

Calcium is a mineral essential for healthy bones and teeth. It also brings other essential health benefits, such as helping in weight management, alleviating PMS symptoms, and promoting a good mood.

The mineral is not retained by the human body and is lost daily through hair, nails, sweat, and urine. Hence, it is essential to replace the lost amounts from dietary sources, or the body will take the necessary amounts from existing deposits located in the bones.

The main benefits of the nutrient are preventing osteoporosis (that may appear mostly in women after menopause), preventing weight gain (by helping in the fat burning processes), and lowering the risk of cardiovascular disease (necessary for blood clotting).

It is also used for its tranquilizing and calming effects.

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin necessary for proper calcium absorption and essential in maintaining normal phosphate and serum calcium levels.

The vitamin is needed by the heart and nervous system, the immune system, thyroid function, and regular blood circulation. It occurs naturally in a small number of foods but maybe assimilated through sunlight exposure for as little as 10 minutes daily.

It can also be artificially synthesized from supplemental sources. Deficiency of the vitamin leads to weak bones, muscle twitching, and rickets in children. Overdose may lead to over absorption of calcium, lack of appetite, drowsiness, nausea, and abdominal pain.

The suggested dose is two tablets per day, preferably with meals.

Testimonials from consumers report increased bone density, enhanced mood, and increased absorption. They support OystaCal effectiveness and the presumed superior quality.

There are testimonials posted online about OystaCal. What is being stated includes statements like these:

  • I am more than happy with these tablets;
  • Even my doctor agrees that yours seems to be superior;
  • Is a vast improvement in my bone density on the last test.

Bottom Line

8) The Bottom Line – “Does it Work?”

OystaCal formula is a superior formulated nutritional supplement for those concerned with the bone system’s health and wants to use a safe product. The manufacturer claims that the benefits are guaranteed by several factors, including the provenience and the purity of the raw materials.

While the benefits are supported by consumers who claim effectiveness in increasing bone density and enhancing mood, there is no scientific study to certify the benefit claims.

As this is not an FDA approved product and potentially harmful side-effects may occur, it is recommended to ask a professional’s advice before using the formula.
