Overview

1) Quick Overview

Each serving of Salmon Oil Complete contains a large 2500 mg of fish oil, almost 1600 of which is Omega fatty acids. Two capsules, the recommended daily dose according to the label, gives you 700 mg of Omega-3s.

Omega-9 isn’t seen often. It’s an unsaturated fat commonly found in oils, nuts, and fruits. These fatty acids can increase good cholesterol while reducing bad cholesterol, making it excellent for your cardiovascular system. It’s also good for general health, although most people will prioritize Omega-3s due to its similar benefits. It’s important to have a balance of essential and non-essential fatty acids in your diet for the best results.

Nutrition Info

2) Ingredients of Salmon Oil Complete

Salmon Oil Complete contains the following ingredients: Vitamin E Natural, d-Alpha Tocopherol, Norwegian Virgin Salmon Oil, Total Omega-3 Fatty Acids, EPA Eicosapentaenoic Acid, DHA Docosahexaenoic Acid, Other Omega 3’s, Omega-6’s, Omega-7, Omega-9’s, Astaxanthin, Natural Tocopherols, Soft Gel Shell: Beef Gelatin, Glycerin, Water, Fish (Salmon, Anchovy, sardine & Mackerel).

3) Does Salmon Oil Complete Work?

Despite the name, this is only about two-thirds salmon oil. The rest is a combination of anchovy, sardine, and mackerel. This is to achieve maximum DHA and EPA potency. Overall there’s a massive 2500 mg of fish oil in each serving. Most of it is essential Omega-3s and Omega-9s. There’s also Omega-6s, Omega-9s, vitamin E, and 4 mcg of astaxanthin.

Astaxanthin is an antioxidant. It’s a pigment responsible for the pink color of salmon. It occurs naturally in algae, lobster, shrimp, and other seafoods. There aren’t any known side effects or adverse interactions with medications. People can take it in amounts up to at least 4 mg a day, so at 2 mcg per capsule in Salmon Oil Complete, it’s practically guaranteed to be safe. There isn’t a lot of medical research yet, but so far, it may help with a lot of things. This includes helping prevent eye problems, suppressing acid reflux, and lowering cholesterol.

Carlson Labs claims to have a unique process for extracting the fish oil found here, with strict manufacturing techniques to ensure nutrient effectiveness. They also use an independent FDA-registered laboratory to test Carlson products for potency and purity.

Pros & Cons

4) Salmon Oil Complete: Pros and Cons

  • Each capsule contains the full gamut of essential long-chain fatty acids. Omegas 3, 6, 7, and 9. This includes 235 mg of EPA and DHA per pill.

Warnings

5) Salmon Oil Complete Product Warnings

  • Not 100% salmon oil as the bottle might lead you to believe, although this is necessary to deliver optimal amounts of DHA and EPA. Without the addition of other fish the Omega-3 levels would be more disappointing.

Price

6) Salmon Oil Complete Price

Salmon Oil Complete comes in quantities of 60, 120, and 240. If you follow the directions and take two capsules daily, this is a low to medium expense. If you only take one a day, this is very inexpensive. Like all other Carlson products, you can find the Salmon Oil online and in your local stores. It’s pretty easy to find and purchase regardless of your location.

How To Take

7) How to Take Salmon Oil Complete

Unfortunately, although there’s a lot of Omega-9s in this product, that doesn’t mean much. Omega-9 is one of the least essential of non-essential fatty acids. To make this supplement really shine we would change the formula a bit. There doesn’t need to be 2500 mg of fish oil or 600 mg of Omega-9s. Both can be decreased to make more room for Omega-3s like EPA, which are more essential for maintaining a healthy heart and brain.

Verdict

8) Our Verdict on Salmon Oil Complete

If you’re looking for a fish oil supplement that can deliver more than just the usual Omega-3s, this is where you should probably start looking. It’s best as a doctor-recommended product for people with deficiencies of Omega fatty acids in their diet, and people who never eat fish. The amounts of each ingredient are a little high for a general dietary supplement and you could easily take one capsule a day instead of two. However, you’d be missing out on getting more EPA and DHA. This in itself varies according to each individual. Regardless of what you need out of a fish oil supplement, Salmon Oil Complete has it all, and can serve your needs well.
