Alfa Sports Creatine is described as a supplement that supports lean muscle mass. The formula contains only one ingredient: creatine monohydrate.

Creatine monohydrate is the most recognizable pre-workout ingredient in the market, with over 200 studies verifying its positive effects on performance, muscle growth, and recovery. Creatine has also been cited to have potent nootropic benefits.

We already know creatine monohydrate is an awesome sports supplement on its own, but is Alfa Sports Creatine a high-quality creatine supplement? Read our Alfa Sports Creatine review to find out.

Synopsis

1) Alfa Sports Creatine at a Glance

  • Only one ingredient
  • The recommended dose is smaller than traditional creatine doses
  • Fairly expensive for the contents of the formula, but you save 15% with a subscription
  • It’s an unpopular brand

2) The Company Behind Alfa Sports Creatine

Alfa Vitamins Laboratories is a United States company that was founded in 1994. Their facilities are situated in Doral City, Florida and this company is a member of The Natural Products Association of the United States.

Ingredients

3) Alfa Sports Creatine Ingredients

Creatine contains the following ingredients:

  • Creatine Monohydrate

Other Inactive Ingredients include: Dicalcium Phosphate, Gelatin from Capsule, White Rice Flour, and Vegetarian Magnesium Stearate

The only active ingredient present in this blend is Creatine, which is naturally found in the body and mainly in muscles.

Creatine is produced by the body and can also be sourced through dietary sources like fish or meats. The most common and practical use for this ingredient in pre-workouts is improving exercise performance and increasing muscle mass.

Once inside the body, it is turned into Creatine phosphate, a substance that is part of the mechanism that produces ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate). ATP is present in all human cells and helps carry chemical energy within cells for metabolism purposes.

There are no long-term studies on the long-term effects of Creatine use. This is why cycling its use is usually recommended. A cycle lasts for up to eight weeks, followed by a four-week break before another begins.

4) Does Alfa Sports Creatine Work?

Although there is no daily recommended value for Creatine Monohydrate, the substance has been heavily investigated, and numerous research-supported studies backing its effectiveness exist.

By itself, creatine works but the dose provided by Alfa Sports Creatine is just too low. If you want to feel the full effects of creatine, it’s better to double the dose, but it also cuts serving size by half – doubling the cost per bottle.

Pros & Cons

5) Alfa Sports Creatine: Pros and Cons

  • The active ingredient is backed up by scientific study.
  • Decent starter brand
  • Not too many fillers
  • Low dose
Side Effects

6) Alfa Sports Creatine Side Effects

Several side effects are associated with Creatine, including kidney stress caused by an increase of up to 90%. depending on the level of Creatine in the bloodstream. Dehydration and gastrointestinal side effects may also be experienced.

A common side effect is bloating, but that’s often when taking creatine as a powder. We’re not sure if being encapsulated reduces the bloating sensation.

Final Thoughts

10) Final Thoughts on Alfa Sports Creatine

Alfa Sports Creatine is a single-formula pre-workout that uses the most popular pre-workout ingredient in the market: Creatine.

Everyone knows how creatine works especially when it comes to muscle growth, workout performance, and exercise recovery. The side effects vary from person to person, but generally speaking, creatine is safe.

As a starter brand, we think Alfa Sports Creatine is good enough, but serious lifters and bodybuilders would readily drop it for something stronger and more cost-effective.

Great article but I don’t agree that the dosage is too low, the recommended creatine dosage is 5g and we usually get 2 or 3g of creatine naturally with red meat and fish, so I think that 2 capsules (recommended by the brand) = 2400mg is just what’s needed to get 5g/day. You should also take into consideration the weight of each individual.

I take Creatine in cycles of 6 weeks for several months now and I feel great. My muscle mass has grown and I can say that I am satisfied.

I use this prior to my workouts and I find it particularly helpful in increasing my stamina and the duration of my performance. Great stuff. Cheap too!
