Memocare Capsules are supplements that are designed to enhance memory, as suggested by the name. The producer for this product is Morpheme Remedies, a company based in the United States; their focus is on producing top-quality ayurvedic remedies in order to improve people’s lives and health. Their products are divided in three major categories: herbal supplements, well-being and herbal syrups, with Memocare belonging to the former.

Most people experience memory issues at one point or another in their lives. Whether it’s because of stress, fatigue or old age, sometimes names, numbers or faces just slip from our minds and we lose precious time trying to remember them. Morpheme Remedies claims that this product can help individuals rid themselves from these kind of situations, claiming that Memocare Capsules can not only increase memory, but also help focus and cognition, and even enhance the creativity for people taking it. Other claims that the manufacturer makes are that the product boosts energy levels, relieves anxiety and stress and improves body-mind coordination.

1) What is Memocare?

Memocare Capsules are an ayurvedic remedy designed to boost memory and improve cognition. It is an entirely herbal formulation, without any artificial ingredients.

The main herbal ingredient in the supplement is Bacopa monnieri, a herb of the Bacopa family, commonly used in ayurvedic medicine to treat epilepsy and asthma. Recent laboratory studies indicate that this extract has memory-enhancing properties, but there are no human tests being conducted yet. In mice and rats it has successfully improved memory and even shown signs of being effective against diseases such as Alzheimer’s. This is also the case for Winter Cherry, which in Ayurveda is normally used to treat tumors, tubercular glands, carbuncles, and ulcers, but has shown a great amount of promise regarding effects on cognition and memory during testing on mice.

Unfortunately there is not much proven use for Sweet Root, another ingredient of this herbal formulation. While it’s been used as treatment for various conditions and diseases in Chinese and Indian traditional medicine, modern medicine has only revealed some antioxidant and antimicrobial properties for the plant so far. The same applies for Sandal Tree, which has only shown effects on blood pressure and heart rate.

While some of the ingredients show great potential in performing the way the product is advertised to, there is no research made available by the producer regarding testing done on Memocare Capsules themselves, leaving room for a lot of guesswork whether the combination of ingredients actually reach the supplement’s goal or not.

It is also stated to be a product that will help children to be alert and for their bones to grow stronger. These ingredients aren’t the ones you commonly find offered in a brain supplement. The claims of what this product is meant to do, seem to good to be true. According to the manufacturer, Memocare can be used by children aged 6 and more. However, the formula contains a mixture of herbal extracts, some that haven’t been properly researched (like Vacha extract, Santalum Album, or Convolvulus Pluricaulis), especially regarding their effects on children. Therefore, we recommend consulting your daughter’s pediatrician before giving her this dietary supplement.
