Celexa is advertised as a form of medication that can help patients treat a broad range of mental health problems, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and mania. This product is manufactured by Forest Laboratories, which also promotes and produces other well-known antidepressants such as Lexapro.

As a small side note, we want to point out that some consumers may feel more comfortable using products manufactured by a confident enough company to stand behind a single formulation.

Forest Laboratories is a corporation that is not focused on developing a full list of products. Still, a few supplements to cover a broad range of illnesses and health problems.

According to the website, Celexa is stated to help get the chemicals in the brain back in balance to assist with the well-being of the individual.

Celexa includes the following ingredients: citalopram hydrobromide, co-polyvidone, corn starch, croscarmellose sodium, glycerin, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, titanium dioxide, and iron dioxide for coloring.

2) Does Celexa Work?

As we have stated above, Celexa is advertised as an effective drug for the treatment of depression and other types of disorders that affect the mind. This drug is a type of antidepressant known as SSRIs (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors).

According to the manufacturer, this drug becomes effective by allowing more serotonin to be produced in the brain. Serotonin is a chemical that is naturally manufactured in the brain. It helps improve the feelings of well-being of an individual.

Unfortunately, issues relating to the chemical imbalance in the brain can be tough to manage. The product’s website does not provide specific information about how this particular formulation can help a patient feel better. Thus, it’s hard to say why Celexa is different from any other antidepressant available on the market.

The daily dose of this medication depends on the severity of the problem. Typically, a very low dose will be given. Then it can be increased over time if the evaluation determines that it would be beneficial to do so. It is never recommended to take more of it than the doctor prescribes.

It is also never recommended to take this medication when it has been prescribed for someone else.

Many side effects have been identified with the use of Celexa. They include nausea or vomiting, diarrhea or constipation, dry mouth, insomnia, abdominal pain, fatigue, increased sweating, fluctuating sex drive, and eating habits changes.

3) Celexa Price

Celexa is a moderately priced type of antidepressant. The cost will depend on the dose that is given. Health insurance or a prescription program may also reduce the cost of the treatment.

4) Conclusion

Celexa may be appealing for those individuals who desire a solution to their depression or anxious feeling. However, this product is available by prescription only. It is strongly recommended to consult with your doctor before starting treatment with this drug.

Consumers who are uncomfortable using a product associated with unwanted side effects should continue their search for a different natural supplement.
