Rawleigh Antiseptic Salve is a wide spectrum healing cream recommended for minor sunburn, superficial burns, boils, blisters, cracked feet, insect bites, rashes, poultice, saddle sores, warts, minor cuts and wounds, bruises and many more. The formula is offered by Goldshield Elite under the Rawleigh brand and has been available on the market for more than 100 years.

Goldshield Elite enjoys vast, international experience as a manufacturer of dietary supplements and home products. The company was established 30 years ago, and now comprises 3 different businesses: W.T. Rawleigh Products, Achievers Unlimited, and Changes International. Goldshield Elite operates through a direct selling business model and has a large network of distributors all around the world.

According to the manufacturer, the formula will work to rapidly repair and restore skin tissue. Also, it helps maintain wounds clean and inhabits formation of germs. Rawleigh Antiseptic Salve can also be used on animals.

1) Quick Overview

Rawleigh Antiseptic Salve contains parafines, phenols and other ingredients in a product designed to assist with numerous skin wounds and irritations.

Turpentine is extracted from the resin of several pine trees. The oil is applied to the skin for various pains, including those affecting joints, muscles, nerves and toothaches. Although research is extremely limited, it appears that inhaled Turpentine may help with congested chest and lung problems.

Phenols are a class of chemical compounds with several health benefits. They are found in numerous herbs, such as Green Tea, and are believed to help decrease the risk of developing cancer. Many phenols also have antioxidant properties (such as Flavonoids and tocopherols), hence they may be effective against the damaging actions of free radicals.

The formula contains cottonseed oil, extracted from cotton plant seeds and used as a vegetable oil in numerous health and care products, foods, salad dressings and cooking in general. It is flavorless and free of saturated fat, making an excellent dietary source.

2) Ingredients of Rawleigh Antiseptic Salve

Rawleigh Antiseptic Salve includes the following ingredients: Turpentine, Liquefied Phenol, Petrolatum, Paraffin and Cottonseed Oil.

3) What Does Rawleigh Antiseptic Salve Do?

Rawleigh Antiseptic Salve contains Turpentine and Liquefied Phenol combined in a base of Petrolatum,
Paraffin and Cottonseed Oil.

Both Turpentine and Phenol are traditionally used as antiseptic agents. Turpentine is used mainly as a topical and sometimes internal remedy for various conditions. Topically it has been mostly used to disinfect and speed up the recovery of wounds and abrasions and as a treatment for lice. It may also treat nasal and throat ailments if the product rubbed on the chest. Today, internal administration of this substance is no longer common as it is considered by many to be toxic. In the past, it was used as a treatment for intestinal parasites.

Phenol has also been used for its antiseptic properties since 1834 when it was first extracted from coal tar. Back then, it was used mainly to disinfect wounds. Modern medicine no longer recommends these two compounds for internal use as they can be toxic when taken in high amounts. However, topical use appears to be safe and efficient.

One may use this product for superficial burns, scalds, blisters, boils, bruises, minor cuts and wounds, sunburn, chapped, chafed and irritated skin surfaces. This product is advertised to maintain its healing properties for many years.

Testimonials about Rawleigh Antiseptic Salve are posted online. What is being stated includes:

I’m 62 and just recently experimented on a carcinoma cancer on the side of my temple and on my ear over a period (7 days) …. all clear! It drew, cleaned and healed to the point of no evidence of anything left behind. It beats going under the knife. Doctors don’t recommend because they say it’s not clinically proven. Now, I am an agent for the products and know firsthand that they work. 100yrs of being around is enough for me to continue usage.

I’m 64 and I’ve been using this all my life. Mum always had some Rawleighs in the medkit and I remember it like it was yesterday the local distributor calling by every month or so with his basket of Rawleighs products. Mum would always buy some Ready Relief in autumn (a nasal decongestant like no other) for us kids. The ointment and salve are my go-to medicinals for coughs, colds, skin rashes, etc. Wouldn’t be without it. It’s saved me from absolute misery many a time.

After 7 days of applying Rawliegh Antiseptic salve, the acme covering my face was gone forever. I had a calcium cist on the ear lobe for 10 years, applied for 3 days, and the cist when away, then came back, applied for another 7 days, and it was gone forever. I went to doctors for help, but all that disappeared was my money. I occasionally get boles on the back of my leg that would linger for a month, again with Rawliegh Antiseptic salve for about 7 days, and it was gone and healed.

I love this salve, yrs ago I had a horse that was galloped on her whole back leg was shredded, it was a mess, I had a tin Fawliegh’s salve and I plastered it on her leg when she came back from morning trackwork, I would hose her off, but the salve stopped anything penetrating her wounds, when we got back to the sables I would wash the leg up in salty water, and slather the salve on her leg and bandage it, I was in awe every morning when I took her bandages off, for an injury that large, the skin was healing so nice and the pink healthy color of her skin and the closing of her wounds blew me away, it was magic, I swear by this ointment, it protects it soothes and its a barrier to anything getting in, humans and animals, it works, clean the wound up first with warm salty water, slathers the salve on, wrap it up, redress every day and you will see the results for sure.

Farmers have been using this forever, the old tins used to say “for man or beast” we used it when the cat got in a fight and got cut or an animal had an injury etc. A number of timesI have had bad burns from equipment exhaust and rawleigh salve almost immediately takes away the pain and prevents blisters, in that regard it is truly amazing.

I have been using and selling these since the sixties.
never got a complaint – and am still using both, the Antiseptic Salve and Medicated Ointment.
Unfortunately I have not been able to get new ones during my stay Down Under last year.
Can anyone please help? as I live in Germany now.
thanks in advance.

I had been battling Perioral Dermatitis on my face for 12 months. The Doctor had prescribed Cortisone creams which only temporarily relieved the problem. When the creams were stopped the dermatitis resumed. I decided to go off the Cortisone and try to deal with it. I used and searched the internet for days and suffered for weeks trying to manage the itchiness, heat and not to forget the unsightly redness around my nose and side of my mouth. I would tone down the redness and inflammation with a white zinc cream through the day which also helped to calm it. A work colleague gave me a sample of Rawleighs salve to try. I started using it on Friday night and by Sunday I knew this product was working. By Monday I could go to work without covering the rash with white zinc, it had stopped the tingling and heat and the skin was actually smooth. I am more than pleased with this product and recommended it to anyone with skin problems. It truly works!

I have this exact problem now and your review confirms my thoughts I could use this on my face which hasn’t flared up since pregnancy 9 years ago. I am immediately going to wash all this makeup coverage and apply now! Thank you

Last summer I had sunburns all over my chest and face. I could not believe how effective this product is. In no more than 2 days, the itchiness disappeared completely and my skin was healed.

I have used this my entire life, now 44 and I swear by its healing ability. It’s truly a real remedy that drugs can’t duplicate and it’s great for chest congestion too.

I’ve grown up using this product, 30 years later I see swear by it. We used to call it “magic cream” as kids because it literally healed all. Highly, highly recommended.

Have been using it for 45 years (my whole life) and now my kids also swear by the “smelly yellow ointment”. Relieves painful inflamed cracks on fingertips overnight. Takes the sting out of superficial wounds (eg grazes) and lesions.

I have extremely dry hands and feet and had try everything the dermatologist prescribed,i stared using this and I think is helping but not sure if is safe to use it so much 3-4 times a day,I mixed it with hand creams I will appreciate more information about this..thank you
