Brain Health – Effects of Nutrients on Cognitive Processes and Ailments
You grew up hearing the saying “you are what you eat,” but what does that mean exactly? As wholesome, nutritious food has been replaced by quick, grab-and-go type meals in the western diet, we have watched a sharp rise in obesity, diabetes, and heart disease to name a few – but what about the rise of ADD/ADHD, PTSD, depression, anxiety, addiction? All of these brain-related ailments have a direct correlation to our nutrient intake.
In 2000 words or less, explain how specific nutrients can influence your cognitive functions, cognitive ailments, and affect overall brain health and well-being.

Requirements:
1,500 – 2,000 words
Award:
Four winners will be chosen based on the quality of the submitted essay. The highest award is $1,500. Three additional winners will be given $500 each. All winners will be notified and awards will be dispersed by January 31, 2022.
